These beauties were lounging around in the 11pm sunshine (which was actually relatively warm). This image was made during our 2011 Arctic LuminOdyssey. We’re returning to Svalbard in late June this year!

Polar bear sniffing

In summer we don’t only see the bears on ice. Sometimes they’re standing on solid ground. This bear was photographed on the island of Edgeøya in Svalbard. We hope to return to this location in June this year on our next Arctic photo workshop.

Glacier cave

On our first Arctic LuminOdyssey photo workshop to Svalbard,  we found this cave in the face of the Samarinbreen glacier.
